This page was made to help the customer make the correct decision on their timing belt repair. When calling different shops for an estimate you will find wildly different prices.Many shops do not do this repair because it is time consuming and they need a technician that has the skill to do it.

The shops that do give  one price, beware because there are some add ons like tensioner, pulleys, water pump, crank and cam seals. The game is to give a price on a belt only and once the vehicle is apart then give options. This is called "get-them-in-the-door" mentality. Once your car is there and apart they have you.

Rick Stroud Auto gives the estimate with belt only and will price the seals, tensioner, ect too. We will itemize and give options before we touch a wrench. It all depends on your wallet, how long you plan on keeping your car, if it is an interference engine. We will take the time and explain the pros and cons and let you (my customer) make that decision.
